Loyalty:Rest in Peace

Loyalty: Rest in Peace

Forget the polar bear- I'll tell you something that really is endangered: loyalty.

I fear that loyalty in American politics is about to vanish completely. A case in point: Bill and Hillary Clinton who brought the Democrat Party back to life after slipping into a near fatal Reagan-induced coma. What kind of loyalty do they now get from the Party they've bolstered and funded for decades? The invisible kind.

Another case in point: Scott McClellan. Bush hires him despite an obvious lack of skill. He's given the chance of a lifetime and what kind of loyalty does he show? The nonexistent kind.

The saddest part is that the absence of loyalty is becoming the expected state of affairs.

In conclusion I must offer a personal apology. There is much about the Clintons I disdain, but they are real people who, like it or not, have significance. I do apologize for elevating the meaningless little worm that is Scott McClellan to their level.

Obama Overboard!

Obama Overboard!

The seas around the Trinity Church have been rough and choppy for a long time- at least 20 years. So why NOW? Why now does Obama scurry of the deck of the ship he swore he would never abandon?

It is mysterious. He weathered the storm of Rev. Wright- but quits over the comments of a GUEST PREACHER who could have so much more easily been dismissed due to his unofficial connection.

A few factors contributed to this decision and its timing:

§ He and is campaign can now say "There is no further connection to that church and we will not discuss, allow to be discussed or answer questions in that regard." It is going to be a very handy shield to pull out if other videos, with stars such as Michelle, assailing America come to light.

§ Very recently, there has been a shift in the analysis of the Trinity debacle. People have been focusing less on the on the "trees"- Wright and Pfleger- and have begun to focus on the whole forest. The forest is the general attitude of the congregants- the way they respond to anti-white hate speech. The forest is the ambiance of anger and anti-Americanism that has flourished for decades and become entrenched. This is an atmosphere where wildly inflammatory statements are greeted with widespread cheering and it is into this environment that Barrack Obama introduced his wife and children. He selected this as his family church. That was a hugely significant decision. Obama hopes that it will no longer be examined or questioned.

§ Simply, Obama is playing his usual brand of politics. He's trying to appease troubled Superdelegates while hoping that all of his black theology backers don't noticed how smoooothly they are being slid beneath the bus.

Pfleger's Words No Faux Pas

Pfleger's Words No Faux Pas But Part of Obama's Brilliant Plan

Think Rev. Pfleger's recent racist rant was a misstep- an unfortunate lapse? Think the good Padre just forgot that such inflammatory bunk would hurt his longtime buddy? Do you think it was a coincidence that Pflegler severed his official linkage with the Obama campaign before his explosive tirade? And, do you think it was simply a happy accident that he played to cameras that filmed him?

Oh, no, boys and girls. There are no coincidences in Obamaland.

Although Barrack is doing another of his Scarlet O'Hara "Oh-my-goodness-I-had-no-idea" routines, to the discerning eye his plan is clear.

Pfleger did this on orders from Obama and I promise you that he will send others to do and say even worse.

Why? The UN inspector is on his way to report to the world about the oppression of blacks in our land. Obama and his gremlins will do whatever they can to fan the flames of racial discontent. By the time the inspector arrives, black anger and white resentment will be at a fever pitch, if Obama has his way.

America will get such a bad report card from the UN; we'll be racked with guilt. Not to worry, the UN will help us to redeem ourselves by showing the world that we are not so bad after all. Why, we'll even elect a black man to show how fair we, as a people, really are.

The strategy is so masterful as to be seen only by a very few. But it is there. It's real and it is terrifying.

Jimmy Carter- Just Blow in His Ear...

My politico buddies have been wondering what Jimmy Carter is up to. They wonder what's behind this latest foray into terrorist territory as he engages in a lovefest with Hamas. What complex political strategy inspires his moves? What complicated cabal is in play?

No complicated conspiracies are involved- no complex thought patterns taking place. The truth is much simpler.

Every high school has that girl- you know- that girl who is mildly attractive but not too bright- that girl who is so vulnerable to flattery that a boy only needs to tell her she is pretty, show a little affection and, Bam! Down she goes.

You can warn her about "bad guys"- the ones who will use her and then throw her away, but she is unable to see it- unable to say "no".

Oddly, Jimmy Carter behaves much like that girl on the international stage. Any terrorist thug need only tell Carter that they think Bush is horrible but that he (Carter) is a GREAT leader, and, Bam! Down he goes.

Jimmy Carter is as vacuous as he appears to be and he is America's diplomatic version of the "girl of easy virtue". It doesn't matter what dastardly plans you might have for the free world, just blow in Jimmy's ear and he'll follow you anywhere.

Obama FLUNKS First Character Test

The Obama had a very nice attempt at a save the other day. His so-called Racism Speech was indeed a finely crafted oratory. There was no hope for even a whisper of spontaneity, for each syllable was selected with extraordinary care. Every phase examined with painstaking attention- to be specific enough to solve a problem but ambiguous enough to leave future wiggle room-weighed and calculated for sound bite worthiness. The presentation showcased Barrack's greatest ability: an earnest delivery of words parsed and sculpted with surgical precision.

All of the interviews on the damage control tour that preceded the speech showed us something completely different, however.

When the Rev. Wright furor hit the fan it constituted the first time that we've ever had the opportunity to observe the Ivy League Wunderkind confronted with an obstacle- asked real questions. Barrack Obama did not do well. He demonstrated dreadful judgment in his amateurish tap dance as he attempted to convince us all that he had never, ever noticed that his own "uncle" was a raving anti American racist. He blustered and fumbled and, yes, he lied.

Now, I know that the media will forget those unfortunate days and cling only to "the speech" allowing themselves to be bathed in Obama's tidal waves of pretty-albeit manipulative prose. But I, at least for one, will never forget the peek that I got a the real man. I will remember how his judgment crumbled and his integrity melted the very first time trouble came his way.

Think We've Got a Two Party System? Think Again

We conservatives are going through a lot. We must trudge through torrents of biased and stilted news at the hands of "liberal" outlets like CNN and the "moderate"-pushing FOX. We must cope with the Republican Party pronouncements that we have no choice but to accept their personal, inside choice of John McCain. Please note that their dictates come BEFORE the major primaries, not after. Yes, I know their message is "blessed unity", but I hear something else. I hear the RNC and new "center-right/moderate" leaders telling me that THEY have made their decision- the deals struck, the smoke filled-rooms already vacated. I hear from every corner of the Republican establishment that I am betraying blessed unity to even consider a vote for conservative Romney. In fact, my vote is no longer even needed.

I feel as if I live in one of those pseudo-democracies we hear about on the news, where there is only the APPEARANCE of opposing parties and only the fantasy of an election in which a vote does matter.

How did we come to this place? How does it happen that millions of conservatives are rapped across the knuckles by their own Party and the liberal and moderate press and sternly lectured about the necessity of adopting a candidate they find inferior? One answer is that the Republican Party doesn't really even exist any more.

The Democrats have always been slyer and more clever than Republicans. Today, I tip my hat to them. They have actually been smart enough to take control of their opposition.  They are pulling the strings of the GOP puppet. They know damn right and well that John McCain is the campaign reincarnation of Bob Dole. They know that insulted and marginalized conservatives will stay home and that Donald Duck as their nominee could then take the White House. Do you really think that they have no hand in pro-McCain delectability polling? Have you noticed all the slack -jawed interviewers asking Democrat analyst after Democrat pundit whom it is they fear? Did anyone else find it odd that they all praise McCain off the same talking points? I find it hilarious that so many of these stupid reporters, viewers and Republican activists blindly accept their words. Nobody questions the fact that all these people who make their livings off the success of the Democrat Party have magically decided to be totally altruistic and give the GOP the best advice they could, and help the GOP as much as they could by helping them pick the best nominee! It's more likely that coaches of one Super Bowl team would have press conferences to suggest plays and lineups that would be best for the opposing team. Only an idiot would fall for that. The RNC must be chock full of 'em.

Look at the people pushing the McCain Bandwagon. They are the new leaders of the Republican Party. And in recent years they have "reached across the aisle" so consistently, and so frequently taken counsel from- and been so greatly influenced by- liberals and Democrats that they are no longer identifiable as Republicans.

The pundits can quit whining about the "partisan divide" in Washington. Not to worry. It takes two parties for that tango and we've only really got one, now. Don't get me wrong- the GOP still exists in a way, but it is only the shell of a Tweed-style political machine. There's no heart, no soul, no solid ideology. It is now an organization that strives to control people and is no longer made up of people. When you can say that about a Party, you can expect plenty of defeats in its future.

Have Huckabee Supporters Been Betrayed?

On the eve of Super Tuesday, I find myself feeling sympathy for Huckabee supporters. They're nice, sincere people as a rule, largely driven by deep religious belief. They see their candidate as a charismatic leader. They cannot see that he is now wearing a new hat- that of the ambitious politician. They truly believe that their leader is an innocent victim at the hands of negative attacks. Yes, Mitt Romney did put out contrast ads. But these ads focused only on issues, whether you liked them or not, and never on the personal. Meanwhile via my home phone line I was consistently hammered by very personal, vicious anti-Romney attack calls. They questioned Romney's patriotism, integrity, religion and personal authenticity while they told lies about his stands on various issues. And after savaging Romney they praised Huckabee and directed listeners to Huckabee websites. They were paid for by pro-Huckabee groups like Common Sense Issues. Huckabee just shrugs and says he can't control his supporters. How sad for this onetime man of God. Now, thanks to his political ambition , he has stood by and watched another good man trashed in his name and not so much as raised a hand. He, himself, has repeatedly and knowingly mischaracterized this same good man's stands on issues for political gain. I've grown to suspect that he has made a deal that will result in his own political advancement while his supporters end up in defeating the conservatism they thought they embodied. This is sad for this man and for the well-meaning people who support him.

PotoMAC Fever!

Growing up in politics as I did, I often heard the phrase "Potomac Fever" in reference to those who had become obsessed with their ambition to obtain elected office. McCain's got it. He now defines "PotoMAC Fever".

In is his despicable behavior in Florida, McCain was a textbook case of symptoms- ruthless expediency and the willingness to do anything- to step on anyone. Even when repeatedly made aware that the lies he was telling about Romney were lies, he only said more of them- faster and faster- eyes glazed. That's the fever.

And while all the talk-gurus, pundits and journalists banter about conservatism vs. moderate, etc. etc., I'm not thinking about that. I've had to vote for Republicans that were far from conservative enough for me against the Dems. I could have again, I suppose. My decision to join the battle cry "I'll NEVER vote for McCain" is not based in ideology. Rather it is about honor and integrity, as now I see that McCain sadly has sacrificed both for his Florida victory.

And, please, dear reader, don't interject the much storied McCain military history. My father served heroically in the US military and I know many others who have, as well. Not one of them would, themselves, or allow others on their behalf to use their service and sacrifice as a license or justification for behavior such as lying or using deliberately sleazy ads to get votes.

Talk about ideology 'til the cows come home. I wouldn't vote for that liar if he were MORE conservative than Reagan!

Is McCain Mr. National Security?

It seems that every public conversation about John McCain must, by necessity, begin with the "universally held belief" that he is superior on the topics of national securtiy and defense. McCain, himself,  constantly touts himself as THE MAN in these areas. But thanks to his "Romney-Timetable Lie" he has now lost the right to make that claim.

I have the transcript of Romney's original statement and his language is clear and concise. He was
obviously talking about the need for our government to share with the Iraqi government benchmarks and time goals that would express American expectations of the Iraqi military and civilian government. Romney was equally clear about the importance of such discussions  being  maintained in strict privacy.

If I can so easilly see Romney's actual words, surely John McCain can, too. I must assume, then, that he disagrees with Romney on his entire statement. Further, in the vehemence of his condemnation of Romney's words, he tells us much about how he would behave as Commander and Chief . Apparently,  he'd enter into a situation such as we have in Iraq and NOT share benchmarks or time goals with them. I guess he'd say,  "The evil Mitt Romney said the President should privately tell you what we expect you to do and WHEN we expect it done. Well, I'm John McCain, the good. There will be no timelines, even private ones. You folks have your military take over your own security and get your government together whenever you feel like it."

The protection of America's interests would demand these sorts of "timelines". Add McCain's failure to realize this to his "Close-Gitmo-No-Water- Boarding-We-MUST-be-loved-by-the-UN-and-the-World" attitude and what we have is a candidate who is actually weak on national security.

I hope Americans will begin to reject the media's consistent assertion that McCain is superior to others on defense and national security. They serve it up to us as if it were dogma, a statement as commonly accepted as "the sky is blue". Well, I've got a news flash for all the pundits and reporters out there. The sky isn't really blue. It only looks that way to the scientifically uninformed.
